Gratitude Journals

"Expressing gratitude on a daily basis helps us to keep perspective in difficult times, and reminds us of our bountiful journey during good times. Journaling keeps us in touch with our inner life and establishes a path for our individual journey."

It's simple!!
Everyday write down 3 things you are grateful for. They can be anything from the simplest moments to a significant event. The more you look for things to be grateful for, the more you will find. This might be difficult at first, because you are doing something different. But instead of taking little things for granted, you are putting thoughts and words to them.

Searching for things in your life to be grateful for is not always easy. We all have days where we think everything goes wrong! Reflect upon the things in your life that make you smile, give you peace, or instill a feeling of joy- those little things can make ALL the difference!

some examples of things to be grateful for are....
- Being alive
-Temples
-Chocolate!
-Having Dreams and Goals
-Scriptures or Inspirational Material
-A Computer
-Living in such a beautiful place
-Being able to read
-Family and friends

The list can go on and on. At 1st it may seem simple, or immediate tangible things that you are writing about. But the more you look for, once again the more you find. This leads to writing about who we really our, our families, our innermost thoughts and dreams, about our communities and what is going on in the world around us.

Some ideas for deeper topics may be....
- I feel strongly and deeply about...
-People who have touched my life are...
-Spiritual experiences I have had...
-What I did to brighten someones day...
-Goals and Ideas for a better tomorrow...

I can justify that a Gratitude Journal could change the quality of your life beyond belief. It can change a hurting, grieving heart into having the smallest bit of hope. Turning your perspective into a better tomorrow, even a better today! As the months pass and you fill your journal with blessings an inner shift will occur. Soon you will be delighted to discover how content and hopeful you are feeling. As you focus on the abundance rather than on the lack in your life, you will be designing a wonderful new blueprint for the future. This sense of fulfillment is gratitude at work, transforming your dreams into reality.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life
Gratitude turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow!"

I want to challenge everyone that reads this into starting their own gratitude journal. What a better time to start than right before thanksgiving. Share things you are grateful for with us, and see the progress you make daily by looking for the small and simple things, that can make all the difference and start that journey of stepping forward into a happier life.
